Prior to the series premiere, there was a notably ardent backer. "This is the beginning of a sort of transformation," remarked veteran reporter John Solomon. The right-leaning Just the News platform will host the former prime minister's new audio shows.

Building Connections in the Conservative Media Landscape

UK-based allies, featuring a pro-Reform adviser, have also helped her set up the Truss's program. The setup is adequate, if somewhat rudimentary. She has gathered 10,000 subscribers in her initial seven days and her debut had tens of thousands of views across the same period.

It is a modest start, but in aligning with John Solomon, the former PM is being pushed into a established political media sphere generating and disseminating pro-Trump narratives. Central preoccupations involve accusations of information control by the traditional news outlets and a desire to dismantle a conspiratorial 'deep state' – a force that the ex-PM holds responsible for the rapid conclusion of her calamitous premiership.

"The platform is not famous outside of the Maga world, but it does have influence there, mostly due to its founder, who provides analysis on Maga platforms like the program hosted by Steve Bannon and has even questioned Trump," noted Professor Alex Hinton, who has extensively researched the Trumpist political wave.

A Controversial Partner

Her effort to import American conservative media to Britain has aligned her more closely to divisive personalities such as Solomon.

He set up his media outlet following scrutiny following accusations of circulating false stories about the President's actions in Ukraine, as well as controversial stories about the former US ambassador to the region.

These allegations were amplified within the pro-Trump media, with the journalist featuring as a common interviewee on Sean Hannity's influential cable news broadcast. Trump himself promoted his stories.

Solomon made the allegations regarding Ukraine in a series of columns for the political newspaper the Hill, after having been moved to a columnist role when staffers raised concerns over his articles. His narratives were pivotal in Trump's pressure for the Ukrainian government to probe the Biden family in that year. Those demands led to impeachment proceedings against Trump. It concluded the journalist had relied on untrustworthy contacts and stated he "omitted key facts about key Ukrainian sources, specifically the reality that they had been formally accused or were the subject of inquiries."

Becoming Part of the Sphere

The journalist's personal TV and radio guest spots are a sign of the political media environment Truss is becoming part of. He talked about his endorsement of her new show on a broadcast he helps run on Real America's Voice, a political media platform that is home to the pro-Trump commentator ex-Trump strategist Bannon and on which commentator Tucker Carlson also features. The ex-PM has already hosted Steve Bannon on one of her first podcasts.

Through her association with this media figure, Truss has become a minor player in a extensive web of pro-Trump platforms that often amplify each other's content.

Solomon's own broadcasts have often featured figures such as Mike Benz, a rightwing influencer whose disparagement of the US Agency for International Development was used by Elon Musk as justification for closing the government body.
